The review just arrived from the NODA critic, Harvey Kesselman, was full of praise for the production and will appear on this website soon in full. A couple of quotes from it :
'This was a first class play acted by a superb cast, all of whom played their parts extremely well. No hiccups, with excellent pace that did not falter.'
'What a splendid production this was. One of the finest sets I have ever seen, giving the correct appearance of a ‘garden room’, as described in the programme, in a house owned by a very wealthy man. Nothing was out of place from the furniture to the paintings and tapestries on the walls.'
Just a quick note to say many thanks to you and the Belmont Theatre for a truly excellent evening on Friday. I am sure I can say on behalf of us all, how much we enjoyed The Hollow and the performance would not be out of place in the West End. Susan Jones, Hertfordshire I just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed the production at the Pump House, one of the best plays I have been to! Julia Smith, Middlesex Thanks very much to all our audiences who again helped create packed houses. Hope you enjoyed it.

From Paul Botly, Director of our next show. “Rehearsals for Belmont Theatre’s May/June production of Agatha Christie’s “The Hollow” are going extremely well. The cast have learnt their moves on stage and we are currently working through scenes and concentrating on characterisations and relationships within the context of the play. The cast are picking up lines and working out their individual objectives necessary for their roles in the production. In addition, we have a full production crew who are working on critical elements of the production such as set design, wardrobe, props, sound and lighting. It is delightful to see so many attending rehearsals and giving their support to the cast and Belmont Theatre and ‘The Hollow'. This play has got success written all over it not only from the level of interest and support from the group but also from the substantial ticket sales and interest in the play that the box office is experiencing.” Belmont has many talented actors within its ranks but sometimes its great to get some 'new blood' and for our May production, 'The Hollow', we are delighted to have amongst the cast two excellent experienced players whom you won't have seen with Belmont before and also one of our favourite former players who has just re-joined the group.
Speaking of 'new blood' in the other sense of the term, you might just see a little in our murder mystery. Do come and find out! 07917 324179 for tickets Great read through last night. Well-attended but the more the merrier.
